A very important part of your property's landscape is your trees. Trees provide oxygen, asthetic beauty, shade, etc. An essential component to keep your trees healthy mulching them correctly. Too often one will apply too much mulch around our trees not realizing the damaging effects it will have. Overmulching causes girdling roots, rot and excess moisture for insects to harbor. The proper way to mulch a tree is to pull the mulch away from the trunk of the tree and make a circle wide enough for the drip line of the tree's branches. Once you have widened your mulch circles, apply 2 to 4 inches of mulch.
